Peak and Pit
The highlight and low point of my week will be shared with you guys, Hopefully the PEAKS are more than the PITS
Ok so over the weekend, specifically saturday March 15th 2014, I was spread so thin and had to attend three events. After two wardrobe changes, the rain, the distance I had to drive and those heels, baby!! I was broke down by the time i lay on my bed at 1am.
So the peak of my weekend was having to see Alani, aka lannibunni. She is a little princess and daughter of my friend who I haven’t seen since she was a born, so when i got the call from Portia that it was her first birthday, I couldn’t not attend. I had other engagements but I simply had to go. Seeing Alani was the PEAK of my weekend. Lannibunni, I wish you all the love happiness and health.
After Alani’s bday party, i drove 30 miles north to a surprise bridal shower that was being arranged by the bride’s friends. I love the thought, the committment to a friendship and the overall idea of surprising someone. I hate surprises for myself, but I’m the queen of surprising people. Fun times! Congrats to the bride and groom
Then I attended a third party for pastor Clara’s 50th birthday. Now that was home and fun too. All the best pastor C. My outfit to her bday below
I am so thrilled that my big brother is visiting me and my family from London. We have been having such a good time. Yesterday Sunday, December 29th was the peak of my entire holiday season. We went to church (The Potters Hous) and later went out to eat and stuff. So fun! I have no pit because this season is all about love, forgiveness and family. Another peak is my younger sister having baby Arnold. Don’t have permission to share his pic yet. That’s me and my brother Terry above after church/lunch. Wohoooo!
This week was a pretty nostalgic one for me but i wanted to share with you guys the peak and the pit. I know it’s only Wednesday but I m afraid I might forget. A Teenager Saved a 9-Year-Old in Peril at Yosemite.A 9-year-old boy was nearly swept over a 300-foot waterfall at Yosemite National Park on Saturday — until he was saved by someone not very much older than himself. Alec Smith, 16, after hearing the mother’s cries, leapt over a protective fence and jumped into the raging Merced River, pulling the boy to safety just yards from the massive drop over the Vernal Falls waterfall. Alec was philosophical about the rescue, which park rangers said put him at considerable risk: “Don’t think about what could have happened,” he told the San Jose Mercury News. “Be grateful for what did happen.”
And of course the pit of my entire month actually- the death of Paul Walker is one that might take me a while to get accustomed to. #unbelievable
My family and I took the most fantastic trip to California for my kids birthdays/family vacation in Disneyland. #priceless. We stayed at SLS Hotel in Beverly hills. Loved every second of it. The peak was being alone with my family in Beverly Hills, no work, no stress, and my pit was leaving it all behind. LOL. Guess we have to work to go on more trips right? LOL
